In another step to be an environmentally friendly company, Vodafone Qatar has assembled a team of Green Ambassadors in its retail stores. A Green Ambassador is a Retail Champion who cares about the environment and champions the cause of being green. Collectively, these Green Ambassadors are called the Green Retail Team, who meet regularly and develop ideas for how to go green. They are also empowered to deliver against agreed actions and their final goal is to implement a 6 month plan to turn Vodafone Retail Green. "At Vodafone Qatar, we are committed to being an environmentally friendly company. A great example is the introduction of paper recycling in all our Vodafone stores ensuring that we play our part in nurturing and protecting our environment,” said Sateesh Ramoutar, Head of Vodafone Retail. “We are proud to have such caring and energetic employees, such as the Green Ambassadors, who actively take part and drive our green initiatives. I’m sure we will be hearing some amazing things from them,“ continued Sateesh Ramoutar. Today, all of the 11 Green Ambassadors met at Vodafone’s Musheireb retail store to deliver their first Green Mission: paper recycling. All unused posters, flyers and brochures that become obsolete at the end of promotions, are brought from each store to the central location at Vodafone’s Musheireb store. The material is then picked up for collection and heads to a recycling factory located in Doha. "It was amazing seeing the large white truck from the only paper recycling company in Qatar, coming to pick up our old paper, posters and flyers that will be recycled into blank paper rolls and used in a thousand new ways. The Green Ambassadors are thrilled to know that each small initiative we take plays an important role in protecting Qatar’s environment," said Ahmed Al-Manwari, Vodafone Qatar’s Green Ambassadors' leader. If anyone wants to know more about Vodafone’s green strategy in its retail stores, Vodafone’s Green Ambassadors are happy to take questions.
